The LPD Edit
At Little Party Dress, our designs have always been about more than following trends. In this piece, LPD Graphic & Textile Designer Kim reflects on what LPD stands for, how we approach design, and why comfort, movement and longevity guide every decision...from the first sketch to your wardrobe.

Personally, I’m partial to the odd fashion trend.
But let’s be honest, they don’t always fit day-to-day life.
We aren’t all standing still, taking perfectly posed mirrored selfies. We are working, parenting, moving, siting, celebrating and hopefully resting(at some point). But perfectly positioned and still? That’s just not reality.
So when we design we ask questions like... Can we wear this all day without needing to adjust it?... Does it comfortably move with you throughout the day?... Will it work for more than one season, one moment - can I wear it on repeat?
That’s why comfort, movement and wearability are never an afterthought at LPD, they’re the starting point.
Every seam, waistband, sleeve and skirt length is considered with real feedback in mind; emails, DMs, reviews, returns and conversions. If something doesn’t sit right, feel right, or wear well, we go back and review it.
Trends will always come and go.
But the right dress? She stays in your wardrobe for years.
That’s why many of our best sellers are styles we’ve designed, lived with, and continued to build on, adapting future pieces from what you already love.
Because when something works with your life, not against it, there’s a reason you keep reaching for it.
Joy is always trending.
Not the fleeting, wear it once kind, but the kind that comes from feeling good in what you’re wearing. Sure we love colour, but we also like black, navy and subtle prints. For us, its not about bold colours or loud moments alone, its the ease, comfort and confidence in wearing them all. When it fits well and feels right, joy follows naturally.
LPD has never been about chasing what’s next.
Although, we do enjoy it when trends naturally fall into what we’re already doing, ‘happy accidents’, I like to call them.
Whether it’s colours, prints or little things that bring joy...because fun and joy is always trending here.
But outside of the occasional happy accident, when trends cross over into LPD it’s usually because it already resonated with you, our customer.
It’s about listening, learning and designing better every time.
Every best seller or restock is proof of that relationship between us and you.
So, thank you for all your feedback and shaping what LPD is and what it continues to become.
