Wedding guest questions
Can I wear black to a wedding?
Yes, black is fine at most weddings now, as long as the invite is not a strictly daytime or themed affair. Keep it elegant rather than sombre: a good cut, a considered fabric, maybe a print with some colour running through it. A black midi with the right accessories always reads polished.
Shop black dressesIs it OK to wear white as a wedding guest?
Best avoided. White, ivory and very pale nude can read as competing with the bride, even when that is the last thing you meant. Leave those shades to her and pick a colour instead. If you love a lighter look, a soft floral or a clear pastel print keeps you well clear of the line.
Shop floral dressesWhat length dress should I wear to a wedding?
Match the length to the dress code. Black tie leans full-length or an elegant midi, cocktail sits knee to midi, and a daytime or garden wedding is made for a floaty midi. A mini can work for a relaxed or evening do, just read the formality first.

A bump-friendly dress with a little stretch and a soft drape keeps you comfortable through the ceremony, the sit-down and the dance floor. Look for a wrap or empire shape in a fabric that moves. Our Bump Friendly edit is full of styles that have been worn and loved right through pregnancy.
